THE REAL HEROES OF PR

The Media Operations Group (V) also known as MOG (V), is a National Territorial Army specialist and independent unit dealing with media handling.   Where the British army is active in theatres such as in Afghanistan, MOG V (the V stands for volunteers) is there.  It is really sobering to know that real-life PR and media types from Civvy Street are out there as part of the TA, making a difference and at times taking casualties. 

I have had occasion to meet the wounded through the unit’s close connections to the City of London Guild of Public Relations Practitioners of which I am a founder member. When you hear about their experiences and the excellent work to support them, it really puts things in perspective! It is seriously humbling when compared to the roles we play here. 

All too often their bravery and action goes unsung. We all owe them a huge vote of thanks.
