AGE OLD PR AGENCY PRACTICES NEED REFORMING.....

Many commentators are fed up with the weakest link rules approach that has traditional dominated the client consultancy interface over recent years. This is where the person running your campaign day-to-day is the most junior person on that campaign.  Oddly, they may not look that junior as often they are sometimes given officers’ ranks with titles like “Assistant Account Manager” to please the clients - when in all reality they do not warrant this aggrandisement and should be referred to as account exec!

Clients are not stupid and are more and more unhappy that the PR consultancy’s Directors and Account Directors only came out to play at client meetings, when something is wrong or when they want more business?   Also I can’t help wondering if it is acceptable that the account management team, promised to you at the pitch, disappears once the business is won?! Of course it is wholly unacceptable but it happens.
